(SK) Desiate vidanie európskej "Yet Another Perl Conference" sa uskutočí v Lisabone - Portugalsku na "Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon" a to od 3. do 5. augusta.

(SK) Tentoraz bez prezentácií ale zato bolo viac času na dobré pivo! Toto stretnutie bolo aj posledné ktoré Emmanuel pravidelne navštívil kedže od budúceho mesiaca bude na druhom konci Európy. V mene Ba.pm mu chcem poďakovať za všetky strasti čo podstúpil s našincami aby ich naučil programovať v Perl-e a za všetky vedomosti čo priniesol a odovzdal u nás v Bratislave po tom čo sem prišiel spoza veľkej mláky. Bude nám chýbať! Prajeme mu veľa úspechov na nasledujúcej životnej púti.

(EN) Without presentations but at least there was a lot of time for a good beer! This meeting was the last one that Emmanuel regulary attended. For the next months (years?) he will be on the other side of the Europe. In the name of Ba.pm I would like to say: Thank you Emmanuel for all you knowledge that you brought and left here. We will miss you! We wish you all the best for your upcomming life journey.

použitie XML::LibXML::Reader+XML::Compile::Schema (Jozef)

Pizza tentoraz prišla na čas a nezostali sme hladný! Emmanuel predviedol projekt libchamplain a jeho Perl C-bindings pomocou ktorých sa dá do GTK+ aplikácie zakomponovať mapa. Jozef ukázal ako pomocou XML::LibXML::Reader +XML::Compile::Schema spracoval 11MB xml súbor.

This time pizza arrived on time and we were not hungry! Emmanuel showed us project libchamplain and his Perl C-bindings that could be used to have maps in the GTK+ application. Jozef showed how he using XML::LibXML::Reader +XML::Compile::Schema parsed a 11MB xml file.

Twin city workshop 2008 - 7. + 8. Novembra

(SK) TwinCity Perl Workshop 2008 je za nami. Dva dni, 27 prezentácií z toho 5 po slovensky, 6 po nemecky a zvyšok po anglicky. Väčšina z nich je prístupná online. Za Bratislava Perl Mongerov by sme sa chceli poďakovať všetkým prezentujúcim a účastníkom vďaka ktorým sa mohol tento workshop uskutočniť. Do Viedne ich prišlo 32 a do Bratislavy 40. 27 z nich sa zúčastnilo obydvoch dní.

(EN) TwinCity Perl Workshop 2008 is over. Two days, 27 presentations from which were 5 in Slovak, 6 in German and the rest in english. Most of them is available online. Bratislava Perl Mongers would like to sa thak you to all that were presenting and all the attendies. There were 32 attendies in Vienna and 40 in Bratislava. 27 attendies were there both days.

(SK) Kniha sa veľmi ľahko číta. Je plná nápadov a myšlienok. Snaží sa povzbudiť k tomu aby sa čitatelia nadchli pre zmenu a nové veci. Na jednej strane je to bezpochyby jediný spôsob ako dosiahnuť raketový vzostup firemných akcií. Na druhú stranu určitá dávka zdržanlivosti nie je na škodu. Asi najviac by som ju doporučil ľuďom čo sú vo vedúcich postaveniach aby vedeli čo ich čaká a aby nepremeškali/nezahodili príležitosti pre svoju firmu a tým pádom pre seba. Tu sa nachádza kompletná recenzia.

(EN) The book is easy to read. It's full of new thoughts and ideas, trying to cheer up the reader to do the change and go for the new things. For sure it's the only way how to make rocket raise of the company shares. On the other hand to be a little conservative never hurts. I will recommend it to the people in charge of making decisions, so that they will not miss/waste the opportunities for their companies and there by for them. Here is the complete review.

RSS Feed a Udalosti zosynchronizované

(SK) RSS Feed a stránka z udalosťami sú od teraz generované z jedného YAML súboru takže texty budú totožné. Môže sa však stať, že tvojmu feed readeru sa nebude "páčiť" že staré položky sa zmenia.

(EN) RSS Feed and page with events are now generated from the same YAML file so the text will be identical. It can happend that your feed reader wouldn't "like" that the old feed items suddenly changed.

(SK) Vďaka firme Ergon sme mali priestor kde sa stretnúť, vďaka firme VeriSign sme mali data projektor a samozrejme vďaka že si Emmanuel, Jonathan a Michael pripravili prednášky!
